Beaches In Durban Over Christmas and New Year

All very well to say Durban is beautiful!!!! It used to be. Go  into town and see the filth, noisy with mini taxis hooting, music blearing and dirt all over. Durban is one of  the dirtiest citiea in South Africa, where most of the people are aggressive, have no manners, are arrogant and take no pride in their city or respect for one another. Take a trip  to Victoria Embankment and take photos of some of the buildings that used to be beautiful, now they have broken windows, are dirty, etc. Some do not even have doors, and I am talking of flats. We have just been on Holiday to other provinces and the towns and suburbs were clean. People are respectful. Even the mini taxi drivers were so cordial. The mini taxis' depots were clean, no noise and orderly! Why can't Durban people have the same attitude ? They blame the apartheid??? Please???!!! This Province used to be beautiful and fun to live in and one to brag about, now I am not proud of Durban at all. I am just waiting for my retirement this year, I will then move away where people have pride in their town, are disciplined and respectful.
One goes to Sun Coast and this is what you see : Filth, people fast asleep on beach chairs under the umbrellas, using it as a hotel!! while tax payers like us whp want to use it as recreation have no umbrella to sit under!!! The best is when someone gets there early to get a spot under the umbrella and only use some of the shade, a group of intrusive people come and plunk themselves right under your umbrella without asking?????!!!!! My mind boggles. Funny though, they only do that to old people or women that are vulnerable. They tried that with me once, but quickly regretted when my husband quickly arrived! Yes some will say I am racist when in fact I am stating facts. I do not discriminate at all, actually have lovely friends and even family of other races. Where I discriminate is when people think because of their colour they can intrude in my life, my space, be abusive, disrespectful and filthy which affects my life and that of my families. I could tell stories of certain neighbours, one even cut the seal of a fire-hose to wash his car. Bring it to the attention of the Body Corporate, and straight away the race issue comes up????

Dirty Durban exhibition captures filth

Durban is filthy and will not be cleaned in time for the 2010 soccer World Cup, which has a "green policy".

This is according to concerned local artist Jenny Cullinan, who on Sunday held the Dirty Durban exhibition at the Durban Botanic Gardens.

The exhibition featured pictures of dirty places around the city taken by Cullinan and members of the public.

The areas included the beachfront, Durban University of Technology's Steve Biko Campus, Mahatma Gandhi (Point) Road, Wilson's Wharf and the Msinsi nature reserve.

Cullinan said the pictures were taken after the recent Durban Solid Waste strike had ended. She said the exhibition was intended to indicate that everyone should take responsibility for the city's cleanliness.

"The city is filthy and we can't blame Durban Solid Waste for the mess. Durban has a reputation for being dirty, and people in Johannesburg and Cape Town are talking about it.

We won't manage to clean up for 2010. It has a green policy and Durban has no beautification bylaws," she said.

Cullinan said the eThekwini Municipality was not to blame and was battling with the problem.

"What's gone wrong, because Durban was once a clean city? I was taught not to litter when I was growing up.

Smashing bottles is some sort of expression and I don't know why. We need to enforce beautification bylaws.

Cape Town is doing it," she said.

Mr Kaunda's Speech at Madiba's Funeral

Many guests at the funeral of Nelson Mandela enjoyed the animated vote of thanks given by former Zambian president Kenneth Kaunda in Qunu on Sunday.
Loud laughter was heard when Kaunda referred to the apartheid-era National Party, led by FW De Klerk, as the "Boer" party.
As his address ran over time, ANC deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa walked up to the podium to signal to him to wrap up.
Kaunda got the audience giggling when he protested, saying people were "trying to control an old man who fought the Boers".
Ramaphosa shrugged and smiled.
Kaunda took the opportunity to remind the apartheid government of its shameful treatment of Mandela and his fellow men.
"I had a chance to meet a number of friends of the boer company. I spent three nights with [former Prime Minister John] Vorster on a train [stationed on the railway bridge over Victoria Falls, which separates Zambia and Zimbabwe]," Kaunda said.
"I asked the prime minister to please release Nelson Mandela and his colleagues and come together in discussions. It came to nothing."
"Then came another boer leader -- I think he was called [PW] Botha -- to discuss the future of South Africa together. I didn't succeed and it also came to nothing."
"Then came my meeting with FW de Klerk... and, after a few hours, I called a press conference where I said: 'I think I can do business with this man'. Thank goodness he released this great man."

People Like You Are the opposite Of What Madiba Stood For. You are a big ignorant racist that inherited a beautiful country, which was built by white regime and you with your actions have destroyed! It is now a third world country, like all the surrounding African countries that were run by the “racist whites and boers". Let’s mention a few. Mozambique- is a third world country. I have come across many black people that have said with conviction, they would rather go back to white rule as they had money, food and schools and hospitals to go to, now it is in a shambles, Zimbabwe was a beautiful country under Ian Smith and now??????? Zambia given to (Keneth Kaunda), Tanzania, Angola, Malawi, etc.,etc. they were all wonderful countries, rich in agriculture, mines, etc., now they are all THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES. They are full of criminals, fraudsters, liars, and self-seeking leaders. Majority of the PEOPLE that were looking forward to a Black Power Rule are still living in poor conditions and even worse than in the White Rule. Just look at Nkandla house, I mean village, built for a certain BOSS not Leader, yet most of the people around his house (village) do not even have water or electricity. I do not agree with the apartheid, but it should be run in conjunction with the white government. Unfortunately South Africa is going the same route. The government and schools are a total disgrace. The city centres are in an appalling state, the filth is indescribable. No pride for their own country, their own home. During the white government the schools (all schools) had books, desks, good teachers, and discipline. Now school books in KZN were not even delivered. The people that got the tender to deliver the books to schools, burnt them, yes burnt them, instead of delivering them, yet they got paid!!!!! Children stab other kids, they abuse and assault the teachers, I could go on and on.

 I don't like Donald Trump but agree 100% with his statement. Yes I agree USA has a lot of crime, but when they get caught they are punished and jailed accordingly, here in Africa excuses are made and they get away with murder, and it is not just a quote. If the LEADERS, which means exactly that, they are to lead by example, so if there is corruption in every area of the government, what is the signals they sending to the people under their leadership? In SA if they are a big shot and are given a jail sentence, all they have to do is buy ill health and you  get sent home!!!!! The moment the criminals get home their health is 100%?????? Send them back to jail or they must be restricted to their home with no freedom to lead a normal social life. I Know I am going to get a lot of abuse comments, but I do not care. It is a nation racked by poverty, where 13 million people survive on less than £1 a day, and two million have no access to a toilet. 

Yet as his people struggle in squalor, South African president Jacob Zuma has sparked outrage by spending £17.5 million to upgrade his rural family home.  

Lavish works – which include the construction of 31 new houses, an underground bunker accessed by lifts and a helipad – will cost almost as much as the £19 million British taxpayers send to South Africa in annual aid.

Originally the cost of the project, which began two years ago.

The costly upgrade to Zuma’s once-humble home in the village of Nkandla includes Astroturf sports fields and tennis courts, a gymnasium and state-of-the art security systems, including fingerprint-controlled access pads. 

And nearby roads have benefited from a further £40 million of improvements.

When African journalists revealed the astronomical cost of the work, Zuma’s ministers turned on the whistle-blowers, saying that revealing the details of ‘top secret’ documents was illegal.

Originally the cost of the project, which began two years ago, was put at £500,000 – but it has since skyrocketed. South African taxpayers are footing most of the bill, although Zuma, a polygamist with four wives and at least 20 children, is said to be contributing £700,000 of his own money – a stretch on his annual £185,000 salary.

 

However, he also receives a controversial £1.2million in ‘spousal support’ for his wives – despite recently calling on fellow politicians to tighten their belts – and pays only a peppercorn rent of £560 on the tribally owned plot in the Zululand hills where his mansion sits.

Zuma has named his residence a ‘national key point’ – a status invented by the previous paranoid apartheid government – which means it is entitled to security measures ‘in the interests of the nation’.

Last week he was grilled in parliament about what he and his family were costing the nation, and struggled to answer, protesting that he was unaware of the scale of the work. 

‘All the buildings and every room we use in that residence were built by ourselves as family and not by the government,’ he protested. He did not know the amount spent on bunkers, claiming: ‘I don't know the figures; that’s not my job.’

Under pressure, Zuma has been forced to agree to two investigations: one to probe the spiralling costs at Nkandla, the other to see if there was a breach of parliamentary spending rules.

‘Nkandlagate’ – as the state-owned media have been banned from calling it – is just the latest scandal to engulf the 70-year-old African National Congress leader. In 2004 he faced trial with his financial adviser Schabir Shaik over racketeering and corruption claims for accepting tens of thousands of pounds in bribes from European arms firms. 

Shaik was imprisoned for 15 years, but Zuma’s case was ‘discontinued’ after complicated legal wrangling – even though a judge said there was ‘overwhelming’ evidence of a corrupt relationship between the two men.The following year, a 31-year-old HIV-positive woman accused him of rape. Although he was acquitted, Zuma’s ludicrous claim that he took a shower after sex to prevent contracting HIV made him a laughing stock.

His personal life also came under scrutiny following the 2000 suicide of his first wife, who left a note describing ‘24 years of hell’ with him, and again after the illegitimate birth of another child in 2009. He accused the media of invading his privacy when revealing the scandal.

Meanwhile, South Africa is in an increasingly parlous state, having had its credit rating downgraded following industrial unrest. Workers at the Marikana platinum mine were mown down and killed by armed police last month when they dared to demand better pay. A truck-drivers’ strike later led to more deaths, and last week thousands of farm workers downed tools in protest at their £4.85 day-rate.

Yet Zuma – who glories in his nickname ‘100 per cent Zulu boy’ – still has substantial support among the people, bolstered by his freedom-fighter credentials, having spent ten years imprisoned on Robben Island alongside Nelson Mandela.

Britain is committed to spending an average of £19 million a year in aid on South Africa until 2015, mainly aimed at reducing HIV. But the Department for International Development is examining how it spends the UK’s aid budget, and recently announced plans to slash the controversial £280 million a year it sends to India.

It is stated in the Newspapers that " Naidoo told the court on Thursday that evidence before him suggested that one month before her May 2005 fraud conviction, Mpisane had submitted fraudulent documents, showing her propensity to commit further crimes. Mpisane received a wholly suspended sentence for the 2005 case after entering into a plea bargain". 
It has also been stated that the case against them was affecting their 12-year-old son

“It’s impacting badly on the kid. Every time he has to go to school, he sees all these guys from Sars and the Asset Forfeiture Unit at his home. These memories stay with you even as you grow up,” said S’bu.

 Well  you and your wife did not think of the "Kid" when you tried to the following - as per what I have read in the NewsPaper and quote'

"Durban - Convicted fraudster Shauwn Mpisane and her entourage breathed a loud, collective sigh of relief when she was granted R100 000 bail on Friday". Note says Convicted Fraudster not accused

Why was Shauwn Mpisane relieved she was granted bail  when she stated and quote " "So fed-up are they, that Shauwn says she would rather spend time in jail if it satisfied her detractors and got them off her back."

Howse said the two pending cases – one where she is facing 119 counts for allegedly defrauding Sars of R4.7m by inflating invoices and the other a suspected attempt to defeat the ends of justice – should not be used to refuse Mpisane bail.

Shauwn contends that her only conviction, for VAT fraud in 2005, arose out of an informal plea bargain with the state after she had failed to register as a taxpayer

One thing you must know, never, ever, ever try to defraud SARS, they will come after you and, so rightly so!

In addition to 53 charges of fraud, forgery, and uttering of a forged document, Shauwn is accused of submitting forged documents for higher Construction Industry Development Board gradings, used to win public works department tenders worth R140m. - Sunday Independent

Why Do Muslims Think They Are The Only Ones With Rights?!

Why are Muslims so quick to retaliate  against  non-Muslims;  to the point of  bombing a countries Embassies  and burning their flags, as they are doing in Cairo,Tunisia,Khartoum and Benghazi with threats that they will be targeting other American Embassies across the world?.

Yet the Muslims  are all anti-Christ and are the first ones to imprison and torture their citizens if they choose  to follow Christianity?  Can you see the injustice by the Muslims? Who do they think they are?!..

Yet they come and live in foreign countries and impose their religion and cultures on others?!? They use their hailers making a terrible noise in the early hours of the morning, midday and evening? There is a law in our country  that any constant noise where it affects the public is illegal. The crime is called public disturbance, yet the authorities do not react because they
 ( Muslims) claim they have  a constitutional right to follow their religion freely?!... What about  my constitutional right to peace and  not to be subjected to their chants (which to Christian beliefs are  evil?!),,Muslims can not have it both ways. If they want that , they must stay in their  countries of Muslim descent and allow others to follow their beliefs in Christ and Our Lord.

The volume of the loudspeakers announcing the azan, or call for prayers, at a mosque had to be lowered on "orders from the top" amidst dissatisfaction among the faithful in the predominantly Muslim area following a complaint from a non-Muslim lawyer that it was too loud.

Why do Muslim men wear their "pyjamas" sorry I mean "thob" to work

 when for westerners a man covering their head  indoors with hats is  a gesture of disrespect!

The women cover their whole faces with a  niqab/burqa  in all the countries they go to! In a country like USA, England and even South Africa with  the amount of  serious crime,and threats surely it is a safety risk to have people walking around with niqabs/burqa. Anyone can get hold of a niqab/burqa and wear it over their clothes, like a man with intentions to commit a crime!...

Another topic that makes me so angry concerning Muslims is the way they want to dominate and impose their culture and beliefes on others even though it is not their country of birth, yet when you or I go to their country we women  can not dress western way, we have to be dictated by their rules? Where is the rights of everyone to follow and dress as they choose?

Example : The Duchess  and the Duke took their shoes off , when we westerners know that bare feet is lack of respect plus the Duchess covered her hair! Why should she have to do that? 

The banks do not allow anyone to walk in with their helmets in case they need to identify through the cameras , yet Muslim women are allowed in with their ?!... does it make sense? Who can guarantee they are women and not a man, or even worse a man carrying a firearm? or if in United States or England could be carrying a bomb or grenade.

Let the authorities in those countries put a stop to their cultural dressing, there will be a big uproar and threats by the Muslim communities!

Asia Bibi, a 37-year-old Pakistani woman from the village of Ittanwali, was arrested by police on Friday, June 19, 2009. Asia (also called Asia Noreen) is the wife of 50-year-old Ashiq Masih, and their family is one of only three Christian families in a village of 1,500 families.

Many of the local women, including Asia, work on the farm of Muslim landowner Muhammad Idrees. During their work, many of the Muslim women have pressured Asia to renounce Christianity and accept Islam. In June, the pressure became especially strong.

On Friday, June 19, there was an intense discussion among the women about their faith. The Muslim women told Asia about Islam. Asia responded by telling them about her faith in Christ. Asia told the Muslim women Christ had died on the cross for sins, then asked them what Mohammad had done for them, according to VOM sources. She told them Jesus is alive, but Mohammad is dead. “Our Christ is the true prophet of God,” she reportedly told them, “and yours is not true.”

Upon hearing this, the Muslim women became angry and began to beat Asia. Then some men took her and locked her in a room. They announced from the mosque loudspeakers that she would be punished by having her face blackened and being paraded through the village on a donkey. Local Christians informed the police, who took Asia into custody before the Muslims could carry out their plan. She was held at the police station in Nankana city. Christians there urged the police not to file blasphemy charges, but police claimed they were under pressure from local Muslim leaders.

Seventeen months after Asia’s arrest, she was convicted of violating subsection C of Pakistan’s 295 blasphemy law - blasphemy against the prophet Muhammad - and was sentenced to death. No Christian in Pakistan has ever been executed under the blasphemy law, but in several cases,extremists have murdered Christians after their release from prison. Asia’s conviction and death sentence have brought international attention to the country’s blasphemy laws. Christians have called for Asia’s release and for a repeal of the laws, while extremists in Pakistan continue to demand that she be executed

Behnam Irani, a 41-year-old pastor from Karaj, Iran, was convicted of crimes against national security in January 2011 and sentenced to one year in prison. After voluntarily surrendering to authorities on May 31 to begin his sentence, he learned that he would be forced to serve five years in connection with a previous conviction.

Officers from the Ministry of Intelligence and National Security (MOIS) raided Irani’s house church on April 14, 2010, and assaulted him before taking him into custody. Although he was released on bail two months after his arrest, he later received the one-year prison sentence.

When Irani voluntarily began serving his sentence in May 2011, he was prepared to spend one year in prison. But he received a letter in October stating that he must now serve five years from his previous sentence.

Irani was first arrested in December 2006 and tried for crimes against national security. He was released in January 2007 but was soon re-arrested, tried and sentenced to five years in prison. Irani was never called to serve the sentence that is now being held against him.

Irani became a pastor in 2002, 10 years after becoming a Christian. Please pray for his wife and two children as they wait for him to return home.

You may also write a letter of encouragement to Pastor Irani to let him know you are praying for him. Please do not speak negatively of the Iranian government in your letter or mention the name of the organization that provided this information.

Behnam Transferred to Prison Hospital - July 2012

Within the last week, Behnam Irani became so sick that he lost consciousness. As a result, he was finally allowed to be transferred to to prison hospital. His family had been worried for weeks that he appeared to be suffering from an intestinal issue. Instead, it appears that Behnam suffers from a bleeding ulcer. We are thankful Behnam is being treated by a doctor, but we encourage you to continue to pray for him since the situation is so serious.

Irani is Ill - February 2012

The family of Behnam Irani are very concerned over reports of his ill health. He is experiencing some sort of intestinal disorder. His family is very concerned because his brother died from intestinal cancer. Please pray for his health, as well as for his family.

Pastor Irani Being Mistreated and in Poor Health

For the first few months of his sentence, Behnam Irani was held in solitary confinement in a very small cell. Afterward, he was moved to another small cell with other prisoners. The room was so full, the prisoners were not able to lie down to sleep, so they had to sit all day and night. The room also got very hot.

Pastor Behnam is now in a normal cell, but authorities have asked for him to be beaten regularly. All his hair has turned white, and his friends fear he may lose the use of his foot, due to a severe foot injury.

Please keep Behnam and his family in your prayers.

SRI LANKA: Christian Pastor and Wife Attacked

A pastor and his wife were attacked in Deniyaya on Aug. 9 after visiting a female church member. They were returning home on their motorcycle when a vehicle suddenly cut them off, causing the pastor's wife to be thrown to the ground. They were then attacked by a mob of about 40 men, including five Buddhist monks and a government official, shouting, "Attack them! Kill them!"

The mob forced the pastor and his wife to return to the home of the woman they had just visited, and they asked the woman and her daughter how much they were paid to convert to Christianity. The woman

and her daughter denied being paid and told them it was their decision based on personal conviction.

The pastor was repeatedly beaten, but he and his wife were able to escape. Although injured, he refused to go to the hospital for fear the attackers would find him and inflict further injuries.

Please also explain  why was not Ruann given the job of kicking after Steyn missed two good penalty kicks right in front of the poles?!..
